OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's soccer team defeated Ohio State 2-0 on Saturday night at Morrison Stadium during the Bluejays' final exhibition match of the 2017 preseason.
No. 14 Creighton opens the regular-season on Friday, Aug. 25 against No. 17 Virginia Tech at Morrison Stadium at 7 p.m.
The jumped out to an early lead on Saturday with a goal during the 12th minute. Marios Lomis headed the ball towards the middle of the box where Anthony Macchione and an Ohio State defender fought for the ball. Macchione recovered the ball and fired a shot into the back of the net to give the Bluejays a 1-0 edge.
