Soccer | Crew hires consultant to explore possibility of building new stadium

Related Topics: Stadium

Crew SC told fans in an email that it has hired a consulting firm to help in “assessing the potential demand for the development of a new stadium in Columbus.”

The team opened the first soccer-specfic stadium in the country, now called Mapfre Stadium, in 1999. In recent years a number of existing teams and expansion franchises have built soccer-specific stadiums.

The email invited fans to take a survey to help the club understand fans' “opinion and potential interest in the project.”

Barrett Sports Group of Manhattan Beach, California, will collect and interpret survey responses.
