The recent dismissal of Juergen Klinsmann and hiring of Bruce Arena as the Head Coach the U.S. National Team has caused a cascade effect in American coaching circles and Gregg Berhalter has been swept up in some of the speculation.
Berhalter has significant ties to Arena and the L.A. Galaxy. He was a player under Arena on both the National Team and with the LA Galaxy. He was also a player coach during his last season, 2011, with the Galaxy. If LA is looking for someone from the Arena coaching tree Berhalter would be on that list.
Arena is also looking to fill out his coaching staff on the National Team and there has been speculation that Berhalter may have a role there given the ties between the two.
