Last night I got into some conversations on Twitter with Seeds and others about Torts, his failings with Team USA, and the fears about what he’ll do with Columbus. One consistent theme is that he’ll ruin young talent. I wanted to explore this more and I didn’t have room to do it in tweets.
I say that the problem is not young talent, but rather VETERAN talent. Torts has had his best success when he took over young teams and built them into competitive rosters. It was only after several years of playoff appearances that the now-veterans tuned him out.
