Blue Jackets to select third overall in 2016 NHL Draft

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets won the third draft drawing and will have the third overall pick at the 2016 National Hockey League Draft to be held on June 24-25 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York. The Toronto Maple Leafs won the first Drawing and will hold the first overall pick and the Winnipeg Jets won the second Drawing and will select second overall. It marks the first time in franchise history the Jackets have moved up in the Draft via the Lottery Drawing.

The first 14 picks of the 2016 NHL Draft are as follows: 1 – Toronto Maple Leafs; 2 – Winnipeg Jets; 3 – COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS; 4 – Edmonton Oilers; 5 – Vancouver Canucks; 6 – Calgary Flames; 7 – Arizona Coyotes; 8 – Buffalo Sabres; 9 – Montreal Canadiens; 10 – Colorado Avalanche; 11 – New Jersey Devils; 12 – Ottawa Senators; 13 – Carolina Hurricanes; 14 – Boston Bruins.
