New Mexico basketball routs Colorado State in Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS — Don't let the three-game losing streak fool you. New Mexico still has as much talent as any team in the Mountain West.

The Lobos reminded everyone as much in an 84-71 victory over Colorado State on Saturday at Moby Arena, as coach Craig Neal's team ended its recent skid in convincing fashion — with some extracurricular activities in the closing minutes.

Preseason conference player of the year Elijah Brown looked the part in scoring a game-high 25 points to go with nine rebounds and seven assists. Gian Clavell scored 22 points to lead the Rams.
