Boise State ended Colorado State's seven-year reign on the Mountain West in volleyball in 2016, and despite the Broncos and Rams bringing back talented rosters, the conference coaches believe CSU will be back on top at the end of the season.

The Rams dominated the preseason picks of the 11 coaches, receiving eight of 11 first-place votes (98 points) to lead the team race and landing four players on the preseason team in voting done by the league's coaches.

Setter Katie Oleksak, middle blockers Kirstie Hillyer and Alexandra Poletto and outside hitter Sanja Cizmic all earned places on the preseason team.
