Walt Weiss To Return As Rockies Manager In 2016

Walt Weiss will return to the Rockies as manager in 2016, tweets Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. There had been some uncertainty surrounding the situation, with Weiss himself even recently acknowledging the possibility that he could be dismissed at season’s end.

Weiss, who will be entering the final season of a three-year contract next season, has been managing the Rockies since 2013 but has yet to top 74 wins in a season and has finished with 68 and 66 wins, respectively, in each of the past two seasons. Of course, the Rockies have suffered through injuries to Troy Tulowitzki, Carlos Gonzalez, Nolan Arenado and Corey Dickerson, among others, in each of the past two seasons and ultimately traded Tulowitzki to Toronto this past July.
