Rockies shortstop prospect Trevor Story near big-league chapter

PITTSBURGH — Trevor Story has put in the grunt work, expanded his repertoire and slowly climbed the minor-league ladder.

Now the Rockies shortstop prospect must practice patience.

Major-league teams can expand their 25-man rosters Tuesday, and Story has a chance to be a September call-up, but there are no guarantees.

"We are still in the process of evaluating some things and some players," said Zach Wilson, the Rockies' senior director of player development. "But we've been very pleased with Trevor's growth this year as he's moved up to Triple-A at 22 years of age."
