PITTSBURGH — A game that began with promise for the Rockies was washed away Sunday afternoon.
Their game against the Pittsburgh Pirates was postponed after a 3-hour, 37-minute rain delay. There was no immediate word on a makeup game.
The Rockies were leading 1-0 after one inning on a double by Cristhian Adames and a run-scoring triple by Nolan Arenado. Colorado starter Chad Bettis set the Pirates down in order in the bottom half of the inning.
But all of that good work was swept away by persistent rain.
