PITTSBURGH — Spoiler alert.
The Rockies almost mounted a shocking comeback Saturday night at PNC Park.
Almost.
Nick Hundley hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning off Pittsburgh Pirates closer Mark Melancon to take a bite out of the Pirates' lead.
It wasn't quite enough, and the Rockies lost 4-3.
The game ended with a double play when Charlie Blackmon lined out to second base and Brandon Barnes was doubled off first. Melancon notched his 43rd save.
Despite a solid, rebound performance by starter Chris Rusin, the Rockies lost for the 15 time in their last 20 games.
