Colorado Rockies Prospects: Brendan Rodgers goes yard twice

Brendan Rodgers, who already sits among the elite names on every top prospect list, will likely find himself even higher on those lists come midseason. With two home runs in last night’s 8-1 win over Inland Empire, Rodgers now has six bombs alongside his .369 batting average.

Rodgers’ likely midseason jump up the prospect rankings could also coincide with a promotion to Double-A Hartford. While it’s just his 29th game of the season, it doesn’t seem like he has much more to prove at this level of the minors. That said, with the Rockies starting Trevor Story and DJ LeMahieu in the middle infield, there isn’t a rush to bring Rodgers to the big leagues.
