Clayton Kershaw pitches seven shutout innings as Dodgers roll Rockies

LOS ANGELES— The ace on the mound. A sellout crowd. Champagne on ice with the division title at stake.

Just what you play for.

At least, what the Dodgers were playing for Saturday night. And what the Rockies aspire to play for.

Clayton Kershaw, the three-time Cy Young Award winner, pitched seven shutout innings of three-hit ball as the hosts did their part to clinch the National League West crown with a 14-1 victory at Dodger Stadium.

The Rockies’ only run came on a homer to straightaway center field by rookie Pat Valaika in the top of the eighth.
