Cincinnati Reds 2, Colorado Rockies 1: Chris Rusin's great start wasted

The Colorado Rockies got an excellent last-minute spot start from Chris Rusin who started in place of a late-scratched Jorge De La Rosa.

Rusin was extremely economical and the only run he gave up on the day would have been an out at home had a throw from Carlos Gonzalez been just a little bit online -- though it was plenty strong and Nick Hundley's diving tag narrowly missed Marlon Byrd and thereby a clean slate for Rusin.

Final line on Chris Rusin: 7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, 90 pitches (61 strikes)

Hundley got the Rockies on the board in the top of the fifth with a solo home run, his fifth of the season.
