World Cup Round-Up: Howard keeps out Honduras on historic night for USMNT

Colorado Rapids goalkeeper Tim Howard kept a clean sheet on a record-breaking night for the USA as they kick-started their World Cup qualifying campaign with a crushing 6-0 win over a hapless Honduras at Avaya Stadium in San Jose.

Having suffered back-to-back losses last November, after which Jürgen Klinsmann was sacked as head coach, the USA showed their true colors in condemning Honduras to their heaviest-ever defeat in a World Cup qualifier.

Gifted the perfect start by Sebastian Lletget after just five minutes, the US were 3-0 up by the interval following additional strikes from Michael Bradley and Clint Dempsey.
