COMMERCE CITY — When Stefan Aigner came over from Germany a few weeks ago on a Rapids recruiting trip, club officials brought him onto the pitch at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and had a clever surprise waiting for him. Playing on the screen at the north end of the stadium were FIFA Soccer video game scenes of Aigner playing in a Rapids uniform, scoring all sorts of goals.
It will be a while before he gets a chance to do it in the flesh, because he’s still getting into game shape, but the Rapids certainly need an infusion of offensive prowess.
