Before Swedish forwards Gabe Landeskog and Carl Soderberg stepped onto the ice Thursday, the Avalanche announced reassigned seven players to trim the training camp roster to 44. Landeskog and Soderberg rejoined the team after playing in the World Cup of Hockey, where Sweden was eliminated in the semifinals by Team Europe.
Center Matt Duchene of Team Canada will play for the WCH gold medal Thursday night in Toronto. He is the last Avs player still involved in the tournament, but if Canada loses to Europe on Thursday the third game of the championship series will be Saturday.
