The Colorado Avalanche have signed left wing Matthew Nieto to a one-year contract worth $1 million. At the conclusion of the contract, he’ll be a restricted free agent.
As of right now, the Avalanche have 36 players signed to contracts with two more pending. Those two are for center Rocco Grimaldi and, of course, defenseman Nikita Zadorov.
Colorado claimed Matt Nieto off waivers from the San Jose Sharks in early January. Nieto played 43 games with the Avs, recording seven goals and four assists. He averaged just under 16 minutes of ice time per game.
