The Colorado Avalanche had some defensive issues in the first two contests of the season. You probably expected that and so did I. Luckily, as opposed to last season, the Avs now have two capable-ish defensemen on the roster that were healthy scratches to start the season. So, something needs to change and most importantly: something can change. The question is what and how.
