EDMONTON — It has become a badly broken record for the Colorado Avalanche.
Another solid effort gone to waste after another rough third period that has been the common theme for the Avalanche far too often this month.
They were going toe-to-toe with the Edmonton Oilers looking to bounce back after a disastrous third period against the Oilers on Thursday night at the Pepsi Center, but costly errors led to two power play goals in the third period and the Oilers broke the game open and took a 4-1 victory Saturday night at Rogers Place.
In the last five games, Colorado has been outscored 20-2 in third periods.
