CLEVELAND, Ohio - Did Brody Chernoff blow the Indians' strategy when it comes to trying to get shortstop Francisco Lindor to sign a multiyear extension? His dad, GM Mike Chernoff, said no, but it made for some good radio.
Tom Hamilton, voice of the Indians, was broadcasting Saturday's game against the White Sox on WTAM. Brody, Chernoff's six-year-old son, was a surprise guest in the ninth inning. During the conversation, Hamilton kiddingly asked Brody if his father had made any phone calls lately trying to acquire players.
Brody, without hesitation, said, "He's trying to get Lindor to play for seven years.
