Who's on third? Eight things we learned Sunday as Cleveland Indians beat Arizona, 6-5

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Indians informed nine players Sunday that they wouldn’t make the 25-man roster, but that still didn’t solve the question at third base. One of the candidates, Richie Shaffer, was re-assigned to minor league camp, but the two main contenders, Giovanny Urshela and Yandy Diaz, are still in camp.

Urshela started at third against the Diamondbacks, while manager Terry Francona stayed in Goodyear, Ariz. to watch Diaz go through drills in which right-handed hitters hit ground balls at him. Francona also stayed behind to have his knee drained.

The Indians talked about making a decision on third base Sunday, but wanted to give it a few more days to simmer.
