Jose Ramirez only had one hit on Thursday, so he's out of Friday's lineup (that's not really the reason)

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- For the first time in more than a week, Jose Ramirez failed to tally at least two hits in a game on Thursday night in Baltimore.

He registered only one base knock, a triple.

On Friday, Terry Francona omitted Ramirez's name from his batting order.

"He hit himself right out of the lineup," Francona quipped.

Over his last 10 games, Ramirez has posted a .522/.560/1.022 slash line, with 15 of his 24 hits going for extra bases. It's a bit surprising that we haven't seen smoke billowing out of the top of his bat every time he steps to the plate.
