Indians 2B Jason Kipnis Dealing with Ankle Sprain Suffered in Pennant-Clinching Celebration

As if the Indians haven’t had enough injuries to deal with this season and post season, there’s yet another one that could have an effect on one of their star players as they get set for what could be an epic World Series against the Chicago Cubs.

That player is second baseman Jason Kipnis, who is dealing with an ankle issue that popped up during the celebration with Francisco Lindor following the Indians’ pennant-clinching Game 5 victory over the Blue Jays.

Tribe manager Terry Francona stated that Kipnis’ injury is a low ankle sprain, but he didn’t seem overly concerned about the availability of Kipnis for the seven-game series.
