Edwin Encarnacion to bat fourth in Cleveland Indians' spring training opener: Zack Meisel's musings

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Edwin Encarnacion will make his Indians debut at Goodyear Ballpark on Saturday. He'll bat fourth and start at first base.

The Indians and Reds will square off in their first Cactus League action of 2017.

"It's going to be a long spring," said Tribe manager Terry Francona. "We're not even into March. But it's always nice to play a game."

Carlos Santana will bat first and serve as the designated hitter. Santana started in the leadoff spot for 85 games last season.
