Johnny Manziel coming to Progressive Field leads today's Indians news update

While the drafting of new Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel may not exactly be Indians news, the city of Cleveland has rallied around the former Heisman Trophy winner as the next poster boy of the sometimes misunderstood city.

In that spirit, per Paul Hoynes of Northeast Ohio Media Group, "Browns' No.1 picks Johnny Manziel and Justin Gilbert will throw out the first pitch Wednesday night before the Indians play Boston at 7:05 p.m. Manziel was scouted as a high school shortstop in Texas before he concentrated on football."

Having both Gilbert and Manziel on the mound at Progressive Field will be quite the event - especially with the amount of media attention that seems to follow Manziel's every move.

Also per Hoynes' report, new Cleveland Browns running back Ben Tate will throw out the first pitch on Tuesday night - making it a Dawg Pound kind of week coming up at the home of the Indians.
