Indians Trade Rumors: David Price to Cleveland, huge trade package returned?

In today's look into Indians trade rumors, the Cleveland Indians' previous interest in Tampa Bay Rays star pitcher David Price could very well be rekindled this summer.

Per Andrew Zuber of The Score, "according to the Plain-Dealer, the Indians talked to the Rays in the winter, reportedly discussing Carlos Santana, Danny Salazar, and a top prospect in exchange for the 28-year-old."

With the Detroit Tigers seeming more vulnerable than ever in 2014 and the Indians sitting just 3.5 games behind the Seattle Mariners for the American League's second Wild Card, revisiting this deal for Price could make perfect sense for both parties.

However, the Indians would be giving up an absolute haul if they were to revisit their earlier discussions with the Rays - especially if Santana's struggles in 2014 prove to be an aberration and he returns to the form of his 2011-13 campaigns.

Either way, with the Indians' offense humming along, having a marquee name such as Price atop the rotation could be the boost they need to make a legitimate run at the playoffs this season.
