Chauncey Billups is “very excited” about opportunity to lead Cavs

According to Keith Britton, the executive producer of 92.3 The Fan, Chauncey Billups is “very excited” about the opportunity to be the Cleveland Cavaliers’ president of basketball operations. He also has “a couple” more meetings planned with Cavs owner Dan Gilbert.

Britton’s information came second-hand but his source is credible. Richard “Rip” Hamilton played for the Detroit Pistons for nine seasons and was Billups’ teammate for seven, including in the 2003-2004 season when the Detroit Pistons defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 4-1 in the 2004 NBA Finals. Billups and Hamilton both arrived on the Pistons in the 2002-2003 season.
