Cavs and General Manager David Griffin Decide To Part Ways

The Cleveland Cavaliers and David Griffin have decided to part ways following a three-year partnership.

In May of 2014, Griffin was named the permanent general manager for the Cavs and was general manager until June 19, 2017.

Griffin was the man behind signing David Blatt as the Cavs head coach during the 2014 season, signed LeBron James back to the Cavs four years after James made “The Decision”, and managed to acquire Kevin Love from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett.

In the 2014-15 season, Griffin placed second in voting for the NBA Executive of the Year Award.
