Cavs Weekly: Cleveland Still Dominant Despite Being Shorthanded

The Cleveland Cavaliers had a five-game win streak snapped last week by the Pistons following Cleveland's Christmas Day win over the Golden State Warriors, but all the Cavs have done is start another winning streak - despite dealing with injuries to several players. Let's get you up to speed with the week that was and the week ahead with our Cavs Weekly update:

Last Week:
Cleveland started the week with a 124-118 win over the Boston Celtics on Thursday, kicking off their current three-game win steak. It was LeBron James' birthday, but it was Kyrie Irving who stole the show with 32 points and 12 assists before leaving late with a hamstring injury.

The Cavs went into their New Year's Eve game against the Charlotte Hornets without Kyrie Irving, but it didn't matter. LeBron had 32 points - 17 of which came in the first quarter - and Kevin Love added 28 points and 10 rebounds to carry Cleveland to the 121-109 victory.

On Monday, Cleveland got the 90-82 win over the New Orleans Pelicans despite being even more shorthanded. Love scored 12 points with 11 rebounds while playing through food poisoning, and James had 26 points while playing with the flu. The Cavs dressed just 10 players in the win.

What's Next?
Cleveland plays at home on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls before starting a six-game road trip. That trip starts on Friday against the Brooklyn Nets before facing the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. Read more Cavs news in the Chat Sports iPhone and Android apps.
