Waiters, Dellavedova Expected To Play Monday vs. Hornets After Spending Night In Hospital

Backup guards Dion Waiters and Matthew Dellavedova should available to play Monday night when the Cleveland Cavaliers host the Charlotte Hornets.

Waiters and Dellavedova both spent Friday night in a New Orleans hospital after being sick.

Waiters played 10 minutes in the first half against the Pelicans before being taken to the hospital with abdominal pain. Dellavedova played 24 minutes in the game but dealt with stomach issues after, and the team sent him to the hospital as a precaution.

The Cavaliers did not disclose Dellavedova's illness, but said tests on Waiters came back negative. Both players flew back to Cleveland on Saturday and practiced with the team on Sunday.

Waiters is averaging 9.4 ppg in 22.9 minutes per game. Dellavedova missed 15 games earlier with season with a strained MCL and is averaging 4.3 ppg and 3.1 apg in 23.8 minutes per game.
