Instant Reaction: Cavs Hold Off Late Clippers Rally For Wild 126-121 Win

Cleveland and Los Angeles were locked in a fast-paced, high-octane battle in the first half, but the Clippers were able to grab a 64-61 lead going into the break. The Cavs finally grabbed control of the game in fourth quarter and held off a late Clippers rally to preserve the victory.

Turning Point:

Cleveland went on a 22-8 run at the start of the fourth quarter, grabbing the lead and giving themselves a cushion they were able to maintain for the rest of the game.

Key Stat:

The Cavs were red hot from the field all night long, shooting 55.4 percent as a team, including 43.5 percent from long range. They were as efficient on offense as they've been all season, even without forward Kevin Love, who was held of the game due to back spasms.

Cleveland MVP:

Kyrie Irving was unstoppable with 37 points and five assists, as was LeBron James with 32 points, seven assists, and 11 rebounds. Tristan Thompson also had a great game with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Los Angeles MVP:

All five of LA's starters scored in double digits, but Chris Paul (13 points, 14 assists, eight rebounds), Blake Griffin (34 points, 10 rebounds), and DeAndre Jordan (19 points, 12 rebounds) really carried the Clippers all night long.

What’s Next?

Cleveland returns home to face the Chicago Bulls on Monday, while the Clippers will travel to Sacramento to face the Kings tomorrow night.
