Cavs News: Mike Miller Out Monday vs. Hornets, "More Than Likely" Back Wednesday

The Cleveland Cavaliers' bench will be one man shorter on Monday against the Charlotte Hornets, as backup guard/forward Mike Miller will miss his sixth game in a row with a concussion suffered against the New York Knicks on December 4.

Miller is in the "fourth of five stages in the league's concussion recovery protocol" and is close to coming back, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

"We were able to get him out there today for some three-on-three here after practice," [Cleveland head coach David] Blatt said. "And tomorrow we'll evaluate his response to that and know where to go for the next step."

Miller will not play on Monday. It is more than likely he returns Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks.

"We're staying true to the process and Mike got out there and at least, while he was playing, seemed to feel pretty good," said Blatt. "We'll see how he reacts."

Miller has struggled to find consistent minutes this season as Blatt has toyed with several rotations, averaging 1.5 ppg and 2.1 rpg in 12.2 minutes a game. Miller had been seeing bigger minutes in the two games before he got hurt.

James Jones has filled in during Miller's absence, averaging 4.4 ppg in 9.1 minutes per game this season.
