Cavaliers Rumors: Kyrie Irving unhappy, has wanted out of Cleveland for years

In a tough pill to swallow in the world of Cavaliers rumors, the Cleveland Cavaliers' much-heralded franchise point guard may be angling to get out of Cleveland as soon as he can.

Robert Attenweiler of ESPN's True Hoop blog interviewed Brian Windhorst, a reporter very close to the Cleveland Cavaliers locker room. When asked about Irving's alleged unhappiness with the situation in Cleveland, Windhorst didn't mince words --

"The truth is [Kyrie’s] camp has been putting out there for years – years – that he doesn’t want to be in Cleveland. That they don’t want him in Cleveland. He doesn’t like Mike Brown. He didn’t like Chris Grant. He doesn’t like Dion Waiters. He’s already gotten a General Manager fired. He might get Mike Brown fired."

Irving's issues with Dion Waiters and Mike Brown have been a hot-button issue in Cleveland for the duration of the Cavaliers' disappointing 2013-14 campaign, and Windhorst believes that the only way that Irving will stay is if he gets a large amount of control in the direction of the franchise --

"I’m just giving you my feel right now and my feel is that he’s not crazy about [signing the full max extension] unless he gets everything checked off across the board."
