3 Possible Trade Targets For The Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland has gotten off to a slower than expected start to their season as the issues of depth and defense have risen to the forefront, which has only been enhanced after they lost starting center Anderson Varejao for the season with a torn achilles.

The Cavs made the three-team deal that sent Dion Waiters to Oklahoma City and gave them J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert, helping their need for a starting shooting guard and backup scorer.

However, Cleveland still desperately needs a big man or two, and will try to make another move to address that before the trade deadline. Who will they look to add?

Timofey Mosgov, C, Denver Nuggets

Denver has made essentially everyone on their roster available to trade, and Mosgov is the most appealing piece for Cleveland. General manager David Griffin has said he wants to find a defensive big man available, and none are better than Mosgov. The seven-footer is averaging nearly a block and a half per game along with eight rebounds in 26 minutes. Denver may ask for a lot in return, which Cleveland won't be willing to give up. However, if they can package a couple of future picks together, this becomes a real possibility.

John Henson, PF, Milwaukee Bucks

Henson would give the Cavs something they really need - a shot-blocker. Henson is 6'11" and runs the floor extremely well, yet he's been buried on Milwaukee's bench as head coach Jason Kidd has favored smaller lineups. The Bucks are rebuilding, and Henson doesn't seem to be part of that rebuild, making him expendable. Cleveland could give up some future assets - along with their trade exception - to make Milwaukee a very appealing offer.

Tayshaun Prince, SF, Memphis Grizzlies

Prince has fallen out of the rotation in Memphis, and the team wants to get rid of his $7.7 million salary. He's a lanky 6'9" wing, but he's 34 years old and doesn't have the athleticism the Cavs would like. That being said, Prince has playoff experience and would provide Cleveland with another wing defender they desperately need.
