2014-15 NBA Season Opener Rumored To Be A Huge One

The 2014-15 NBA season opener will likely pick up where the offseason left off - with the spotlight trained on the return of LeBron James to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

According to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, "rumor has it that the NBA’s season-opening game on TNT will be San Antonio at Cleveland, the first home game for LeBron James in his return to Cleveland and the first game for the defending NBA champion Spurs. The NBA schedule is expected to be released next month."

James' first regular-season game as a member of the Cavs since 2010 will be a huge event in and of itself. Add in national television and a date with the NBA's current measuring stick, and you have the recipe for one of the highest-rated NBA season openers (and perhaps regular-season games) in television history.

Will the San Antonio Spurs start their title defense on the right foot? Are the Cleveland Cavs poised and ready for a run at an NBA champiohship with LeBron back in the fold?

We might have the answers to these questions and more when the season kicks off on October 28th.
