3 Players The Cleveland Browns Are Targeting In The First Round Of The 2015 NFL Draft

The Cleveland Browns head into the 2015 NFL Draft with a number of holes on the current roster. With two first round picks (12th and 19th overall) the Browns are in a position to add impact talent to a depth chart that is need of it. Here are 3 Players the Browns Are Targeting in the First Round of the 2015 NFL Draft:

Marcus Mariota, QB (Oregon)

Last year's selection of Johnny Manziel has done more harm than good so far, and the Browns appear ready to pull the trigger on another potential franchise quarterback in Marcus Mariota. With two picks in the top 20, Cleveland has the ammunition to pull off a trade to jump up for the Heisman winner. With Jameis Winston likely going first overall, Mariota is the only other quarterback regarded as a first round talent this year. It would probably take a trade into the top eight picks for the Browns to land Mariota, where Washington (5th overall) could be a match (Unless they land a trade for Sam Bradford with Philadelphia).

Danny Shelton, NT (Washington)

Cleveland is in need of defensive line help, and the Browns have their eyes set on Washington's nose tackle Danny Shelton. Shelton is the top player at his position in this year's draft and has looked stout against the run and the pass during his college career. Shelton has already met with the Browns, and is an option at either the 12th or 19th spot, where he could immediately slot in as a starter in Cleveland's 3-4 defense.

Malcom Brown, DT (Texas)

Texas' Malcom Brown looks like a fit for the Brown's second pick in the first round (19th overall). There will be a lot riding on what the Browns do with their first pick (for instance, if they select Shelton), but Brown would be a nice fallback option if the Browns go with another position initially. Brown has not had an official visit with the Browns yet, but has been mocked at 19 in a number of mock drafts so far. However, if Cleveland pulls off a deal for Mariota, the 19th pick may no longer belong to the Browns at all.
