Quietly Tigers have record-breaking weekend

Quietly the Clemson baseball program had a record weekend in Rhode Island as it swept Boston College in its three-game Atlantic Coast Conference series.

The Tigers beat BC 8-2 on Friday behind 11 strikeouts from starter Charlie Barnes and three hits and two RBIs from first baseman Andrew Cox. In Game 2, Alex Eubanks pitched a three-hit shutout in a 1-0 victory, while Pat Krall went 7 1/3 innings while scattering seven hits in a 2-0 victory in Game 3.

Sunday’s win improved the sixth-ranked Tigers to 20-4 overall and 8-1 in the ACC. The 8-1 start in conference play is Clemson’s best after nine games since starting 9-0 in the ACC in 1995.
