Greensboro (N.C.) Day shooting guard John Newman had been leaning toward Clemson heading into his official visit to the school this week.
The visit closed the deal for him, and on Friday evening, he announced his commitment to Clemson.
“They offered me last August, but I really started considering Clemson really deeply about two months ago when I started to dig deeper into things that I wanted in a school, different things that I was looking for,” Newman told The Clemson Insider. “And then when I went on my official, it sealed the deal for me. It has everything I want and need, so there was no point in waiting around.
