Last year’s run to the College Football Playoff Championship Game was a little easier for second-ranked Clemson than it was this year in getting back to the College Football Playoff.
The Tigers (12-1) will play No. 3 Ohio State (11-1) in the CFP Semifinal at the Fiesta Bowl on New Year’s Eve in Glendale, Ariz.
“I don’t think there is any question about that. To sustain success is very difficult because sometimes people can get complacent and things like that,” Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said. “You have to maintain a sense of urgency, the standard of excellence, the daily commitment and pay the price all over again.
