Coastal coaches weigh in on satellite camps

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Perhaps no topic has been more controversial over college football’s offseason than satellite camps.

When it comes to the Atlantic Coast Conference, it’s safe to say the conference and its coaches aren’t in favor of satellite camps as a whole.

The ACC was one of the biggest advocates of banning satellite camps across the FBS, and that came to fruition — but not for long.

After the ACC proposed legislation to the NCAA Division I council that would end satellite camps, the rule eventually passed on April 8. But several weeks later, following national backlash from coaches who argued that the rule change limited opportunities for players to be recruited, the rule was rescinded.
