Deshaun Watson and Demarre Kitt Provide Clemson a Bright Future

This week, as expected, Clemson received a commitment from 4-star WR Demarre Kitt of Tyrone, GA. A big part of his commitment was knowing that 5-star QB Deshaun Watson of Gainesville, GA, was already committed to the Tigers. Both have desired to play together at the college level and the combination of these 2 could lead to the best QB/WR combo in Clemson history.

Watson committed to Clemson last February and has flirted with other schools. The Clemson coaching staff knew he would receive much attention from some of the best schools in the nation and so far the Tigers still have 5 star QB as part of their class. Watson stands 6-3 and is a dual threat QB. He has a great arm and descent speed but most importantly just is a proven leader. He brings out the best in his teammates and is simply a winner. He has National Championship ability and desire and if he comes close to meeting his potential it would be hard pressed for Clemson not to have a few Top 5 finishes with him at the helm. And with weapons like Demarre Kitt he will be very dangerous.

Kitt resembles the playing style of Clemson first round draft pick, DeAndre Hopkins. Kitt has great hands and is very good at high pointing the ball. He is very good at separating from defenders and is very quick in the open field. Kitt, like Hopkins, is a very good route runner which makes him near unstoppable. One of the biggest factors for his decision was his close relationship with Watson. Their relationship off the field will do nothing but help their chemistry on the field.

Clemson still has to ensure the commitments from these 2. Both being committed to the Tigers should solidify one another's commitment but if one wavers Clemson could lose both. These 2 individuals have good character and that is unlikely to happen. When these 2 arrive on campus they will compete for playing time right away. There will be no ceiling for what the Tigers can accomplish with these 2 on campus.
