Clemson's Milton Jennings at a Crossroads

On Wednesday, Milton Jennings was suspended after being arrested for possession of marijuana. Many questioned what his future with the Tigers would be and Friday Brownell suspended him for the South Carolina game as well. This latest arrest and suspension have many questioning if the best thing going forward is for him to be dismissed. But was his 3rd suspension in the last 13 months.

His first 3 seasons it appeared that Jennings has lacked work ethic and character. Tiger fans had hoped that in his senior season he would be a leader because his time as a Tiger was coming to a close. Obviously, that has not been the case. He seems to lack the maturity of a senior player.

Jennings is at a crossroads. He is a unique talent. He has the size, athleticism, and shooting ability to be a star. Regardless of his talents, they are useless because they aren't being put to good use. He has been lazy and been a huge disappointment at Clemson from day one after being a McDonald's All-American in high school. He hasn't even come close to living up to the hype he received coming in.

Moving forward, Brownell has to have a short leash on Jennings. Any violation of team rules and he should be out. If he continues down the same path he will be the most disappointing player in Clemson history. Be a posterboy for unfulfilled potential. But, if for some reason, the light comes on and he sees that he has NBA potential, he can carry Clemson to a successful season and be in the NBA next season. More than likely, he will go through the motions with the same lack of competitiveness he has had his first three seasons.
