3 Reasons Clemson Will Win The College Football Playoff

The Clemson Tigers are the No. 1 team in the nation and have a chance to capture a National Championship. The 13-0 Tigers will play Oklahoma in their College Football Playoff semifinal game. After that, Clemson will get winner between Alabama and Michigan State. With that in mind, here are 3 Reasons Why Clemson Will Win The College Football Playoff:

3. Strong Defense

Alabama likely has the best defense in the playoff, but that doesn't mean Clemson's defense is bad. In fact, the Tigers have a great defense of their own. Clemson has given up points in recent weeks, but they've given up just over 295 yards per game this season. That's seventh in the nation, and ahead of all CFP teams except Alabama. Even after a few rough weeks, Clemson has given up just 20.2 points per game. That's a top 20 number and better than any of the playoff teams. Alabama's defense gets all the love, but Clemson's unit is just as good.

2. Incredible QB

With all due respect to Baker Mayfield, Deshaun Waston is the best QB in the playoff. He's completed 69.5 percent of passes for 30 yards and 11 TDs. He's also added 887 yards and 11 TDs on the ground. He's been an amazing dual-threat and there's a reason he's a Heisman Trophy finalist. Watson will make plenty of plays and he'll guide the Tigers to a national title.

1. Best Team

No one has been able to beat the Clemson Tigers yet this season, and that includes great teams in Florida State and Notre Dame. The Tigers won't be adding a loss to their ledger in the playoff. If the defense struggles, Watson and a great running game can help pick up the slack. This is Clemson's season and nothing is going to stand in their way of capturing a championship.
