ST. LOUIS — When Scott Schebler was moved down in the Reds’ lineup on April 20 against Orioles lefty Wade Miley, Bryan Price was asked if Schebler was being moved down in the lineup because he was hitting just .170 with the implication that Schebler may not be able to handle the team’s everyday job in right field.
Price shot down that notion quickly, saying Schebler was only batting seventh because there was a left-hander on the mound.
“I have as much confidence in him being a great player, probably more confidence in him being a great player, than maybe even he does,” Price said at the time.
