Reds Recap: Romano gets it done

ATLANTA — Sal Romano pitched a career-high seven innings and picked up his third big-league win as the Reds took the first game of their series against the Braves 5-3 at SunTrust Park.

Here are the main storylines from Friday’s game:

Romano in control: Romano made his best start as a big leaguer, holding the Braves to one run over seven innings. He gave up five hits, walked two and struck out three, including the final batter he faced on the night, pinch hitter Micah Johnson.

Romano’s only blemish was a second-inning home run by Reds killer Matt Adams.
