Cincinnati Reds 2015 Grades: Tucker Barnhart

In 2015, Tucker Barnhart got a lot more playing time with the Cincinnati Reds than he probably thought he’d get. After Devin Mesoraco unfortunately went down early in the season with a hip injury (read the recap of Mesoraco’s injury-plagued season here), Barnhart was brought up by the Reds as their backup catcher. Barnhart ended up playing 81 games this year, a big increase from just 21 games in 2014, and spent the season splitting catching duties with Brayan Pena.

Barnhart started his season with the Triple-A Louisville Bats, where he only played five games with 16 at-bats and hit .
