The Cincinnati Reds are reportedly looking to trade both pitchers Johnny Cueto and Mike Leake, but there has also been a lot of speculation of them packaging Cueto and closer Aroldis Chapman. However, the Reds are not entertaining the notion, according to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.
If the Reds do make Chapman available — one of the best closers int he league — they would prefer to move them in separate transactions.
Cueto and Leake have contracts that expire after the season, but Chapman still has one season left on his deal.
