Carson Palmer: Kitna 'probably the most instrumental individual in my career'

The Enquirer/Kareem Elgazzar

Former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer said he'd enjoy playing the role of mentor if the Arizona Cardinals draft a QB, according to ArizonaSports.com.

Palmer credited Jon Kitna, who mentored Palmer while he played quarterback for the Bengals from 2001 to 2005, among "many great mentors and role models and guys to look up to."

More from ArizonaSports.com's Craig Morgan:

When Palmer broke into the league with Cincinnati in 2004, veteran Jon Kitna had already been with the Bengals for three seasons and in the NFL for seven seasons.
