Bengals Rumors: Clemson's Vic Beasley A First-Round Draft Favorite For Cincinnati?

The Cincinnati Bengals' players and coaches are all well aware of the team's need to add some talent to the team's flagging pass rush this offseason. Both ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay think that the team will look to do just that in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft, pointing out Clemson's Vic Beasley as a likely choice.

Per Coley Harvey of ESPN.com, "in his latest first-round mock draft that was published Wednesday, Kiper had the Bengals picking Clemson defensive end/outside linebacker Vic Beasley with the 21st overall pick. Beasley is the same player who McShay selected for Cincinnati in his second mock last week."

Harvey doesn't agree with Kiper or McShay's pick of Beasley, with the Clemson defensive standout's versality and ability to work inside and out not necessarily lining up with Cincinnati's needs at this point.

He also adds that the team's pass rush problems stem mostly from the defensive line, meaning that a hybrid end/linebacker like Beasley may provide a case of a great talent that doesn't exactly fit with their first-round plan.
